Welcome to Pre Kindergarten!
We can’t wait to meet you all and welcome you on your first day!
— Mrs Nicolette Macpherson
This site has information for you and your child as you plan to commence Pre Kindergarten.
Pre Kindergarten Staff
Your classroom teacher Mrs Macpherson (Mrs Mac), is supported by two teachers' aides. They assist in the classroom and also accompany the students to specialist lessons throughout the school.
Each day the children attend a specialist class where they learn different skills delivered by a range of specialist teachers. These opportunities include Bible, Music, Thinkspace (Technology), Connect (Communication), Sport and Library lessons.
Curriculum
Students are involved in various play-based learning opportunities to develop their interests and foundational literacy and numeracy skills and knowledge.
Students are taught all Key Learning Areas in Pre Kindergarten. They experience Bible, Literacy, Mathematics, Creative Arts and Science. A significant part of the program is developing your child’s fine and gross motor skills through various activities.

Communication
Our primary form of communication between parents and teachers is email. Our inbox is checked daily and is the best way to advise us of information regarding your child. We often receive emails about changes to pick up arrangements, notifications that your child is sick for the day, questions or concerns about Pre Kindergarten. We encourage you to email us so that we can respond as soon as possible.
We ask that if you have a last-minute change regarding your child’s pick up arrangements, you phone Primary Administration and the message will be passed on.
Our email is prekindy@ccas.nsw.edu.au, or you can contact us on 02 4367 1800
Photographs
We share photos of our day or special events. In Term 1, we send home photos at the end of each day so you can see what your child has been learning. Later in the year, this moves to a weekly update. Updates will be sent to the email address listed with the school.
If you DO NOT want your child’s photo published, then you need to advise us in writing as soon as possible.
Newsletter
A newsletter will be emailed to parents periodically outlining the learning objectives for the weeks ahead and will notify you of upcoming events.
Permission
Permission notes for incursions and special events will be sent home electronically. Please view the notice and reply as soon as possible.
