WOSE, Holidays and Term 2

by Mr Tony Kent

Our WOSE programs have made for a really special finish to the term. As a Christian school, these highlight programs are an important part of our commitment to the spiritual nurture and development of each student, regardless of where they are at on their own personal journey with God. We have been blessed this week by the messages shared by our guest speakers, Dilys Brooks (International Speaker, Chaplain, Teacher, Pastor and Mum) and Graeme Fraunfelder (Children’s Ministry specialist), as well as the contribution of many students who have stepped up to lead and present.

Students from Years 5-12 have also been invited to a special program tonight at 7:30pm in the Naomi Frew Hall, designed for Teens and Youth and supported by our Haven Campus Church. Dilys will be speaking, and then tomorrow (at 9:30am for a 10:00am start), all our school families are invited along to Haven Campus Church where Dilys will speak for the last time before returning to her home in California. A big thank you to our Chaplaincy Team for their leadership and energy to make this last week of the term such a positive experience.

I do want to wish all our school families an enjoyable term end break. It has been a slightly longer term than usual, and a very busy one for CCAS. I think the break from the routine of classes is timely for both our students and staff. I look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday, April 30, for the commencement of Term 2.

Year 1 Step Back in Time

by Year 1 teachers

Last week Year 1 went on a fantastic excursion to Rouse Hill to experience school life in 1889.

The students dressed up, were given old fashioned names and were totally enthralled all day as they wrote on slate boards, recited lessons, heard about how the cane was used, marched around a maypole, participated in a sewing class, played with hobby horses and sketched real animals that had been preserved. It was an immersive and worthwhile experience by all.

Primary CIS Soccer

by Mr Michael Kosmeier

On Monday Benjamin Giles and Jai Rose represent HRIS at CIS Soccer.

The boys represented the school really well, bagging 3 out of the 4 goals scored by the team. They played 4 games in extreme heat. HRIS was placed 6th overall out of the 9 teams. Well done boys!
